Tarakan RSUD Patients Enthusiast in Casting Their Votes

The enthusiasm of Tarakan General Hospital (RSUD) patients to cast their votes in this 2014 presidential election is quite high. Three members of polling station (TPS) 24 Tarakan RSUD voting committee (KPPS) were circling the hospital to eight floors to accommodate the patients and their family members casting votes. But since many of them do not bring C6 form, only 91 patients can use their rights to vote.

Cannot vote by only showing ID Card (KTP). In total, 91 people cast their votes in Tarakan RSUD

“Cannot vote by only showing ID Card (KTP). In total, 91 people cast their votes in Tarakan RSUD,” stated Head of KPPS TPS 24 Tarakan RSUD, Rusdy Hanto Darmawan, Wednesday (7/9).

According to him, such a thing is to avoid vote duplication. So, his party must be thorough in giving chance to patients to cast their votes. The three KPPS TPS 24 Tarakan RSUD members were accompanied by witnesses from both president and vice president candidates. They only bring ballots box and marker ink and did not bring voting booth. Thus in casting their votes, the patients only covered their ballots using blankets or newspapers.

“If you’re house near here (the hospital), just go home and get the C6 form. We’ll be waiting,” said Darmawan to the patients’ family members.

Sukri, one of the patients, admitted that he deliberately asked his family to bring his C6 form because he believes that his vote is very precious. It is also to press cheating number.

“It’s a loss if my vote not used since I have the right. Luckily there are officers circling here,” he expressed.

Besides the patients and their family members, the nurses and security officers of Tarakan RSUD also joined in casting their votes. There are two TPSs prepared in RSUD Tarakan by Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU), namely TPS 24 and 25. As many as 419 people are listed to vote in TPS 24 and 455 people in TPS 25.
